Designed Landscapes – Brussels 1775-2020
‘Designed Landscapes’ proposes an original outlook on landscape in the region of Brussels, over a retrospective discovery of the quite singular history of its public parks and gardens. Thanks to a number of original documents, some of which have never previously been presented, the event offers a global overview of landscaped creations from 1775 to the present day, of their designers and of their historic and political context. The exhibition will also aim at situating Brussels’ creations within an international cultural framework and at highlighting the specific tools of the landscape architect.
