Le Jardin des plantes de Rouen by Julien GOOSSENS – Archives départementales du Calvados

The Botanical garden in Rouen

The Botanical Garden in Rouen, a place for science and culture, boasts exceptional plant heritage. Over a surface area of 9 hectares, this 17th century garden’s eventful history is associated with the evolution of the natural sciences, in particular the development of botany in our societies. This conference will offer an insight into the story of the Botanical Garden, its landscaped composition and its lesser-known scientific missions.

Julien Goossens

Rouen-born Julien Goossens has been in charge of the Botanical Garden since February 2013. He studied at the ENSA school of architecture in Normandy. His experience includes, in particular, the design and renovation of landscaped areas for luxury hotels in Paris.
