Santiago Rusiñol. Gardens of Spain

This exhibition is a tribute to Santiago Rusiñol and his passion for nature and garden painting. In 1903, the artist published the album, Gardens of Spain, which is a compilation of forty paintings which he personally selected one by one, and of poems by different authors.  The theme, which fascinated the artist, is completed thanks to the lyricism of associated poems; gardens are the relics of a world of grandeur, areas full of imagination and escapism. The exhibition aims at presenting a different outlook on Rusiñol’s paintings, the vision of gardens that the painter repeatedly represented throughout his life and to which we owe his most renowned works.
