Anatomicae Natura 1542-1584

Taking an interdisciplinary approach, the symposium explores the relationship between nature and artifice, science and artistic creation in the second half of the 16th century, a period marked by the founding of Europe’s first botanical garden, at the University of Padua, and by the creation of Cardinal Hippolyte II d’Este’s ‘giardino delle meraviglie’ in Tivoli.
