The Persian garden – a reflection of paradise
A place for contemplation and the pleasures of the heart and mind, the Persian garden – pairi-daeza – which translates as an ‘enclosed and verdant space’, is at the very origin of the word ‘paradise’.
Manijeh Nouri will present the historic origins of Persian gardens and their many representations in art, literature and craft, oriental rugs in particular.
