The château de Chantore gardens, restoring a Bühler style park

Following the example of Sleeping Beauty, the grounds of the château de Chantore remained for around 60 years untouched by the human hand. When its new owners arrived six years ago, archaeological studies unveiled a genuine Garden of Eden, and aroused it from its slumber. The restoration phase that followed continued to recover the bygone splendour of this park, landscaped in Bühler style. They will offer a retrospective insight into this six-year restoration campaign.

Born in Versailles in 1963, Bernard Legal studied at university before enjoying a career in neuroscience in Paris. Six years ago, he settled in the Mont Saint-Michel bay with Iñaki de Groiburu. After two years spent restoring the Château de Chantore grounds, they opened five guest rooms and the landscaped park to visitors.
