Botanical road books, a journey between art and science
Created by a group of scientists and librarians specialising in gardens, this exhibition takes visitors on an astonishing journey through time and space – a journey from art to science. An amble through and between drawings by the botanist Francis Hallé and the artist Herman de Vries’ herbarium, between the story of the very first female explorer, Jeanne Barret and Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s prose, between Humboldt’s illustrations, Jean Massart’s photographs and a botanists’ blog on expeditions to a garden in Rwanda or a North Sea campsite…
