Die Orangerieanlage von Schloss Hof im Werk Johann Lucas von Hildebrandts: Zur Erforschung und Wiederherstellung by Thomas BAUMGARTNER – Munich (Germany)
The orangery at Schloss Hof in the works of Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt: history and restoration
From the 17th to the 19th century, no other architect passed on a richer production of orangeries and greenhouses that Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. His work is quite remarkable, thanks to the sheer number of buildings he completed: around a dozen orangeries and greenhouses in no less than seven castles and palaces. Focusing on the orangery at Schloss Hof, this conference will present the typological evolution that can be seen in Hildebrandt’s work, together with the structural and cultural characteristics of this type of building.
