Fabuleux outils de jardins – Omonville-la-Rogue (France)
Fabulous garden tools
For 40 years, Guillaume Pellerin has reunited a vast collection of old garden tools in his botanical garden in Vauville. From the simplest tool, such as a wooden dibble dating back to the Roman period, to a fine English 1950s lawn mower, these garden tools tell the story of the day-to-day lives of the men who used them to tend to nature, highlighting their technical and artistic creativeness. Whether of noble or humble origins, whether made of wood or of gold, their purpose remains universal, and common to all gardeners. This exhibition unveils the secrets of a culture that is as old as humanity itself, via tools that are classified according to their purpose, from preparing the soil to planting, watering or even harvesting.
Exhibition designed by the Vauville botanical garden and the Manoir du Tourp.
