Les jardins japonais en Europe de la fin du 19ème siècle à aujourd’hui by Jean-Pierre CHAVASSIEUX – Archives du Calvados
Japanese gardens in Europe from the late 19th century to the present day
From 1880 to 1910, several Japanese gardens were created throughout Europe over the artistic movement referred to as Japonisme. They have met with renewed success since 1980, thanks to twinning operations and economic exchange between local authorities and regions.
This conference will focus on a few examples of Japanese gardens in Europe, in an aim to highlight their styles, techniques and necessary maintenance.
It will also offer an opportunity to present the European Japanese Garden Association.
