Les Rencontres de l’Institut Européen des Jardins & Paysages – Paris (France)
The gardens and landscapes of the architects of Europe
Can the garden be seen as a laboratory for political utopias? Can we speak of Europe based on the notion of landscape? The gardens of Europe’s founding fathers (Jean Monnet, Adenauer, De Gasperi) invite us to consider the process of European construction, and the challenges facing the European Union, from a hitherto unexplored angle. The case of Jean Monnet, whose vision of Europe was inspired by his floral enclosure and his country valley near Paris, appears – more than ever before – as highly significant.
Encounter with Marti Grau Segu (European curator and head of service at the Jean Monnet House) and Sylvain Hilaire (Chairman of the Paradeisos – European Gardens Association).
Free entry. Prior registration is mandatory.
