L’utilisation du jardin des Tuileries pour des événements : une tradition ancienne by Emmanuelle HÉRAN – Caen (France)
The use of the Tuileries Garden to host events: an age-old tradition
The presence of the Olympic cauldron within the Tuileries Garden has served to spotlight this historic garden. It was also an opportunity to reiterate its hot-air balloon tradition, dating back to 1783, along with other events and festivities. This conference will focus on the various celebrations that developed during the French Third Republic and on a few original events, all of which presented a challenge for the garden’s overseers.
