René Pechère (1908-2002), an international guide through the maze of garden architecture and landscape
This colloquium is organised on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the maze in the gardens of the Van Buuren Museum in Brussels, created in 1968 from a plan drawn by the garden and landscape architect René Pechère (1908-2002) and the restoration of which will be complete this year. The colloquium will offer an opportunity to talk of René Pechère as a creator of private gardens and as a public sector project initiator in Brussels, as a consultant in historic garden restoration, an author of books, and a creator and source of inspiration for international associations.
