Paysage culturel, bien culturel by Bruno CHAUFFERT-YVART – Château de Bénouville

Cultural landscape, cultural property

Since the application of French laws on sites (1906 and 1930) and on landscape (1993), the notions of environment, living environment, built or natural landscape, cultural landscape and cultural property have undergone fundamental change. This conference will portray this change which has deeply impacted the way we apprehend landscapes, via the example of the bid for the Climats du Vignoble de Bourgogne (Burgundy vineyard “climates”) to be listed on the World Heritage register.
