Histoire et conservation de quelques arbres fruitiers exceptionnels – ONLINE
History and conservation of a few exceptional fruit trees
The European symposium for the conservation of historic fruit and kitchen gardens, initiated by the Association des Amis du Potager du Roi and the Walled Kitchen Gardens Network, is continuing its tour of exceptional fruit and kitchen gardens, by offering a voice to the owners, managers and gardeners in charge of preserving these sites.
- Hilary Theaker (in charge of the conservation of the kitchen garden at Hampton Court, United Kingdom) will present the Hampton Court kitchen garden, the story of its 200-year-old vines and the care taken to preserve it.
- Sébastien Conil (head gardener at the Castle of Freÿr, Belgium) and Stefan Vidts (landscaper and art historian) will present the Freÿr Garden and the manner in which they continue to preserve and tend to its 300-year-old orange trees. These trees appear to be among the oldest potted orange trees in the world.
