Herman VAN DEN BOSSCHE
Herman van den Bossche is a landscape architect (graduated in 1978). He works as a “Historic Gardens and Parks” expert for the Flemish Heritage Agency. He teaches “The botanical aspects of historic gardens” at the Artesis University College in Antwerp and “Introduction and theory of historic garden restoration” at the Institut du Patrimoine Wallon (Wallonian Heritage Institute). He is a voting expert member for Belgium of the ICOMOS/IFLA, the International Council on Monuments and Sites. He is a member of the editorial team of the monuments, landscape and archaeology journal M&L. He chaired the jury for the Hans Vredeman de Vries award for the restoration of historic gardens in Flanders, organised by the King Baudouin Foundation for the Louise Vanden Bulcke collection. He is a Unesco expert in cultural landscapes. He was president of the jury of the René Pechère Dutch-speaking literary prize (2011 and 2013 editions). He is a member of the board of the Jardins Ouverts de Belgiques (open gardens in Belgium) association, vice president of the AJABP (Belgian association of garden and landscape architects) and president of the Dutch-speaking chamber.
