La genèse du Domaine Albizia, un voyage au coeur du règne végétal by Frédéric TINARD – Château de Bénouville
The genesis of the Domaine d’Albizia estate – journey to the heart of the plant world
Located in Caumont-sur-Aure in the Normandy bocage, the Domaine Albizia gardens are the fruit of their owner, Frédéric Tinard’s imagination. Twelve successive landscaped scenes, stretching across 3 hectares, offer the visitor an immersive experience into the heart of botany, where nature and architecture maintain a perpetual dialogue. As a collector of rare plants, Frédéric Tinard designed his gardens with the will to develop a walking trail that is full of surprises. Open to the public since 2007, the gardens were awarded the Jardin Remarquable (Remarkable Garden) label in 2020.
Frédéric Tinard
A qualified landscaper and former florist, Frédéric Tinard acquired a meadow fifteen year ago to create his own garden and to fulfill his passion for plants. He renovated and converted an 18th-century building into guest rooms. Today, the estate boasts 9 independent holiday homes, reception areas, a nursery, a tea room and proposes ludic activities and games, all associated with the garden.
