Le jardin Massart – Histoire d’une création originale – Brussels (Belgium)
The creation of an experimental botanical garden in Auderghem in 1922 by Jean Massart and Jules Buyssens was a symbolic moment and the result of an inspiring encounter between the scientific research developed at the Université libre de Bruxelles and the world of landscape architecture in the context of the Nouveau Jardin Pittoresque movement. The lecture series aims to embed the birth of the original garden, situated at the core of the existing Jean Massart Botanical Garden, in a broader cultural and scientific context.
