Les arbres extraordinaires de la région parisienne by Alain BARATON – Nogent-sur-Marne (France)
The extraordinary trees of the Paris region
When I became a gardener in 1976, I was asked to plant trees, firstly a few, then many. Hence began my desire to know all about them: their origins, their etymology, the medicinal properties of their leaves, the colour of their flowers and the taste of their fruit. The world of trees is truly extraordinary. Not a month went by without me learning more about these plant species that can live for a thousand years and more. Trees offered me a desire for eternity. They also gave me the capacity of patience, wisdom and a certain notion of immortality.
Conference organised on the occasion of the La banlieue côté jardin (garden suburbs) exhibition.
In partnership with the Parcs et Jardins 94 association and the MJC (youth club) in Nogent-sur-Marne.
