Renaissance du Grand Daubeuf by Guillaume BASCHET-SUEUR – Château de Bénouville
Rebirth of the Domaine du Grand Daubeuf
This listed historic monument, located just a few miles from Fécamp, comprises a 17th century château and a number of outbuildings, including the late 19th century Grandes Écuries (stables).
Since 2014, the Delecourt family has engaged in a vast project to restore the site. Work involves all built and landscaped features, which have suffered severe damage over several years of escheat. They coincide with the implementation of tools likely to generate a contemporary economy for the site, and of its access for the neighbouring community. A review of three years of past work and prospects from now to 2024.
Guillaume Baschet-Sueur
Guillaume Baschet-Sueur is the designer of the vegetable garden awarded the Prix Villandry in 2015 and steward at the Domaine du Grand Daubeuf. His original academic and professional career – an ESSEC graduate, financial management for Renault, cultural management of live performances and contemporary art, 18 years in Portugal, resumed study at the National Graduate School of Landscape in Versailles – has enabled him to acquire a transversal perspective on the garden as a generator of links within the heart of its surrounding territory.
