Inventory of Europe’s historic gardens, the example of Germany
The colloquium will offer an insight into the current state of historic gardens in Germany and will develop strategies for the future within the framework an inventory of gardens at European level.
It will be followed by a conference by Clemens Alexander Wimmer, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of Peter Joseph Lenné: The plants used by Peter Joseph Lenné (1789-1866).
This event is organised by the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte (Central Institute on History of Art), in partnership with the “Gartendenkmalpflege” (historic garden preservation) workgroup from the Vereinigung der Landesdenkmalpfleger in Deutschland e.V. and the European Institute of Gardens and Landscapes.
