Du jardinage au paysage, de La Quintinie à demain – Versailles (France)
11-12 March 2026
From gardening to landscape, from La Quintinie to the future
The author of Instruction pour les jardins fruitiers et potagers (Instruction for fruit and vegetable gardens) (1690), and director of all Louis XIV’s fruit and vegetable gardens, was as illustrious as he was mysterious. Considered by a certain historiographer as the father of French horticulture, he followed the example of Olivier de Serres – father of French agronomy, or of André Le Nôtre, France’s first established landscaper.
