Gilles Clément. Gardens and Paper

Ever since Gilles Clément became a central figure in the French and international gardening and landscape scene in the mid 1980s, a multitude of books; articles, research projects, recordings and graphic reports have sought to analyse his work and his mindset. His media profile has offered him international exposure, paving the way to widespread international travels to showcase his personal vision of the gardener.

Yet, this particular exhibition will focus on less-explored aspects of his personality, through original writings, older and/or less documented projects (in particular those relating to private gardens and unfinished works) and his personal archives (photographs, reference books by illustrious authors, drawings, texts, etc.). The aim is to portray the personal development that led him to shape the key concepts and projects that earned him international renown.
