Annabelle de la Panouse has invested a great deal in her gardens. They represent three phases in her life. 
Thoiry : where she restored the historic gardens and created: the Coral Garden, the Autumn Garden, the Arboretum, the Long bord, the Colline des Roses (rose hill), the White Garden, the Hydrangea Alley and the Rose Garden, the Fragrance Garden and, in association with her husband, the Giant Labyrinth. With advice from Harold Hillier, Timothy Vaughan, Adrian Fisher and, for thirty years from Alain Richert, Annabelle plants in a truly interesting manner. She has helped some 35,000 trees and shrubs to take root. And in doing so has offered a future to her gardens.
L’Éden médiéval du Colombier (the “Garden of Eden” at the Château du Colombier) : Annabelle, who draws inspiration from medieval texts, has created an enclosed garden of medicinal plants, an insight into the Crusades, traditional games and a labyrinth devoted to courtly love. A walk even outside the garden walls offers an illustration of the history of gardens over the centuries.
A modern garden, a pure creation – La Quinta das Mil Flores in Portugal: Located in Sobreiro, on the hills that overlook Pedrogão Grande, her latest garden is the result of her unbridled extravagance, with luxuriant flowerings all year round and free from historic constraint.
