Garden cities: a certain idea of happiness
Devised and produced by MUS – the Suresnes Museum of Urban and Social History, with support from the Association régionale des cités-jardins d’Ile-de-France (Île-de-France garden cities regional association), this exhibition aims to display the diversity of some 80 listed garden cities, whilst determining their common features. It will offer improved understanding of the origins of this urban phenomenon and will enable attendees to grasp its key characteristics and its adaptation in the Parisian suburbs in the interwar period and beyond.
Stories, archives, photographs, inhabitant testimonies and student projects will also offer a fascinating insight into the garden city of Éveuses, a remarkable example of an architectural development in Rambouillet.
