Metamorphoses through landscape

A sober, low-carbon and post-fossil fuel world is what is lacking for ecological and energy transition to truly materialise. So, towards what land are all these directions taking us and how do we get on board?
The more the climatic, ecological and social wave swells, the more democracy is threatened, tossed between populist inaction to starboard and technocratic authoritarianism to port side.
In L’Archipel des Métamorphoses, Bertrand Folléa advocates that landscape offers a method to serve in-depth societal change. No table to contemplate, no territory to equip, no picture postcard image to protect, nor decor to plant: rising above any such reductions, the landscape renews its capacity to bring sense to an environment we can shape and can share.
L’Archipel is the metaphoric representation of the post-fossil fuel landscape. It opposes the destructive ‘continentalisation’ of supercities born from the fossil fuel era.
To what extent can the landscape, as a political project, offer an unexpected tool for navigating towards transition?
We will board in Cerisy for a sail through the ‘Archipel des Métamorphoses’ and to test landscape like a compass. Along our way, our stopovers will include: the imaginary, territory, politics, economics, education and… the islands of Chausey.
