24 October 2025 / 9:30am-4:30pm
‘Gardening passion’, a common language. Retrospective on the meaning and role of gardens in society
The various meanings attached to gardens over history and societal change.
The day’s topics will be presented by specialists, in particular the philosopher Philippe Nys, who will talk about the ‘allegiances’ between nature and technique, the French historian and specialist in landscape and ecology, Hervé Brunon, who will approach the ‘gardening impulse’, reiterating the garden’s age-long existence and universality.
The afternoon session will offer an opportunity for exchange, in gardens, with artists and professionals who will offer their own personal appreciation of the site, over an encounter with garden and landscape.
