Practices and Perspectives on Mediterranean Gardens: Literature, the Arts, Territories and Ecologies

The three-day international symposium will bring together French and Italian specialists to explore a common question: what do Mediterranean gardens tell us about the ways in which we inhabit, represent and conceive of the world?

The various papers will focus in particular on the history of gardens and landscapes, the movement of plants and cultures across the Mediterranean, representations of the garden in the arts and literature, as well as contemporary issues relating to land use practices and territorial transformations.
