8 August 2015 / 5:30pm-6:30pm
In this text, entitled Truth and Garden, Fernando Caruncho attempts to reflect on the connection between garden and landscape. The garden as a space that connects man to nature, as a metaphorical construction that spiritually prepares man for the discovery of the landscape. In other words, as his representation in connection with the world, or as the truth that gives meaning and direction to his life.
Landscape designer Fernando Caruncho has 36 years of experience and has completed more than 150 projects both public and private. During the last 15 years most of his projects have been executed internationally (New Zealand, Japan, USA, Morocco, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece and the UK). His work has appeared in numerous media, including his monograph, published by The Monacelli Press in 2000, entitled Mirrors of Paradise written by Guy Cooper and Gordon Taylor, as well as, books, programs and publications of contemporary landscape both national and international. Publications include articles in the New York Times, Financial Times, and the Herald Tribune. Currently we are working on a new book about his latest projects. Fernando Caruncho usually participates in national and international conferences, forums and several university lectures like Bristish Columbia of Vancouver, Politecnica of Madrid, Architecture University of Florence and Milan, Royal Botanical Garden of New York, etc. He is academician of the Academy of Art and Design in Florence.
