The garden and the prince: power and aesthetics
Michael Jakob is a professor in history and landscape theory at the hepia engineer school in Geneva, professor in comparative literature at the University of Grenoble, lecturer at the EPFL in Lausanne and visiting professor at the GSD (Harvard). He studied law, philosophy, German and French literature, together with comparative literature at the Universities of Tübingen, Stanford, Paris and Geneva. He has acted as invited professor at the Universities of Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Heidelberg, Fribourg, ETH, Rome, Urbino, Turin, Cosenza, UPF Barcelona, etc. He is the founder and director of THE COMPAR(A)ISON journal and the “di monte in monté” collection (Tarara’, Italy), as well as director of the Paysage collection (Infolio, Gollion).
